Active ingredient similar to fat, which is found in all animal and plant cells, especially high contents in egg yolks, brain and spinal cord and in plant seeds. Soya lecithin shows a high contents of essential fatty acids, especially lineolic acid. Lecithin lowers the surface tension of water. In cosmetic preparations, it promotes resorption, absorption and penetration of the contents, works to soften and take fat out of the skin and the hair. It can be used in many ways in hair and skin care materials, among other things as well as a co-emulsifier and in addition is used for the manufacturing of liposomes.
