Allergy trigger perfume December 8, 2021 Alarming: Frequent allergy trigger “perfume” is in 70 percent of all cosmetic products Perfume in cosmetics is a curse and a blessing. On the one hand, cosmetic products are supposed to “smell good”. On the other hand, perfume poses a not inconsiderable risk of skin allergies - because after nickel, perfume is the most common allergen. Dermatologists consider fragrances in care products for children to be particularly problematic.

Banned ingredients November 18, 2021 Banned ingredients can still be found in thousands of cosmetic products For reasons of health protection, the EU repeatedly bans cosmetic ingredients. Most recently, 23 additional substances were classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction by Commission Regulation (2021/1902) and officially banned as of March 1, 2022. Among them are three that are still commonly used in cosmetic products today, although they have long been suspected of being extremely harmful - these are Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate and Zinc Pyrithione.

Baby creams often contaminated October 11, 2021 A quarter of products contain chemical preservatives - including some popular brands The consumer protection portal Cosmetic Analysis has put baby creams under the microscope - and the results are shocking: 109 of the 434 baby cream products analyzed contain chemical preservatives - including popular brands.

Carcinogenic sunscreen June 15, 2021 43 percent of sunscreen products are contaminated An analysis of 1,512 sun protection products by the consumer protection portal “Cosmetic Analysis” has revealed that 646 are contaminated with octocrylene - this corresponds to a share of 43 percent. Octocrylene is a chemical light protection filter and forms benzophenone, as researchers from the University of Sorbonne have discovered. Benzophenone is considered to be possibly carcinogenic and hormone-changing.

Safety first - so that cosmetics do not make you ill June 8, 2021 Globally used portal for testing cosmetic products optimised People’s awareness of health and the environment is changing. But especially in promising cosmetic products, substances that are hazardous to health are still lurking. Anyone who takes a detailed look at the quality of cosmetic products should take this aspect into account. Those responsible at Cosmetic Analysis have further optimised their website https://cosmeticanalysis.com in 2021, which has been in existence since 2008, and supplemented it with additional knowledge tools especially for experts. With the template “Transpareo”, Cosmetic Analysis now also offers its applications for other uses. For example, ingredient statements can be used with all information on the topics of food supplements, food, pharmaceuticals, building materials, pet food and other product groups. In this way, consumers’ wishes for more product transparency for many areas could be easily and quickly implemented and offered by manufacturers and organisations.

Cosmetics must not make people ill June 8, 2021 People’s awareness of health and the environment is changing. But promising cosmetic products in particular sometimes contain substances that are harmful to health. Allergies, intolerances and other health problems can be the result. But most consumers do not know where to find neutral information about their cosmetics or how to understand it. To enable users to protect themselves better and to get a good and understandable overview of products including ingredients, Cosmetic Analysis has further optimised the cosmetics portal https://cosmeticanalysis.com in 2021, which has been in existence since 2008.
